About the Prints

In this modern digital age, when it comes to photography prints, many seem to feel that large, very large, prints are inherently superior to smaller prints. I suppose this leaves me somewhat out of the loop. For me, image size does matter, but, in my case, a smaller print better serves my overall expression of silence– the moody, dramatic contrasts I struggle to express losing much of their subtlety in large prints. Indeed, my slices of silence are not meant to force your attention or to “wow” you into submission; rather, they seek to invite you to catch a glimpse of the same subtle slices of silence and solitude I experienced when I first photographed them. In this spirit, I have chosen the print and edition sizes listed below. Unless otherwise noted, all of the images are printed on Hahnemühle’s Bamboo Fine Art paper. All the printing and matting is performed and scrutinized by me. I use an Epson 3880 printer with the highest quality inks currently available from Epson. With proper care, your print should not fade for at least 70 years (and, likely, much longer). Each print is hand signed and numbered or lettered (depending on edition) and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). I log each sale to ensure that the print runs do not exceed the stated limits.

In some cases, a larger print size can be negotiated, but, for those uncommon situations,
