sacred art

The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco is one of my most favorite museums.  Each of these pieces can be found on the third and second floors that house a generous offering of their permanent collection.  I tried to approach these images in the same way I might think about taking a portrait– as well as taking into consideration that the space (non-form) around the figures (forms) was as important, if not more important, as the figures (forms) themselves, all in the hopes that these images would reflect the silence that is inherent in light as it reveals and conceals.
